About Shake A Paw
Shake A Paw has been helping New Jersey families find their perfect puppy since 1992. Founder and President Jeff Morton, born and raised in Union County, opened our original Green Brook store out of a lifelong love of dogs. He expanded it in 2000, and in 2006 opened our 8,000 sq. ft. superstore in Union.
Jeff's experience goes well beyond retail. He has bred and shown Saint Bernards, competed for AKC championships, trained the #1 obedience-titled Saint Bernard of 1996, and shown at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show two years running. He is a certified New Jersey Animal Control Officer and Animal Cruelty Investigator.
What sets us apart
- Two state-of-the-art puppy showrooms, in Union and Green Brook.
- Every puppy hand-picked by our owner and staff, and examined by our store veterinarian before going home.
- Giving back. In 2012 Jeff founded the Shake A Paw Center for Rescue and Adoption, a New Jersey 501(c)(3) that has placed over 1,500 homeless dogs, many transferred from high-euthanasia shelters. We also support the Union County Sheriff's Office K9 unit and offer volunteer opportunities to Union High School students.
